This miniature ecosystem has been thriving in an almost completely isolated state for more than forty years. It has been watered just once in that time.
The original single spiderwort plant has grown and multiplied, putting out seedlings. As it has access to light, it continues to photosynthesize. The water builds up on the inside of the bottle and then rains back down on the plants in a miniature version of the water cycle.
As leaves die, they fall off and rot at the bottom producing the carbon dioxide and nutrients required for more plants to grow.
if you don’t think this is fucking rad then get out of my face
I can’t believe I am moving in TWO DAYS. Like I am gonna get to see Ryan every single day instead of the…what has it been…like 8 days since I last got to spend time with him? And I have my own dishes and dining table and entertainment center and just like all this grown up stuff! And I am moving out of my house for probably ever. This is very weird and very exciting and just a little sad but mostly happy. I just want it to be Tuesday but at the same time I have noooooo idea how I am going to finish all this packing because the amount of stuff I have is ACTUALLY ridiculous. I’m overwhelmed and all I want is to not have to work tomorrow night because I have so much else I need to dooooooo ugh.
